Welcome to Douglas Todd photography
Born and raised in Derbyshire, I would argue that the area boasts some of the most awesome scenery in England. I was never an "A grade" student and left school at the earliest opportunity to do something creative. An apprenticeship with Rolls-Royce offered something on the right lines and a living; a trail bike the means to venture further a field. Photography became a serious interest and the remote trails provided access to strange and interesting places to photograph. On completing my apprenticeship I was promptly made redundant. A generous severance package enabled me to travel and explore further my creative side in Asia and Australia.
My interest in people, their surroundings, nature and the built environment feature in my work. From September this year I will be travelling to North and South America, Australia and New Zealand.
